I wanted to share with you a great technique called Emotional Stress Release which helps you to reduce and manage your emotions response to stressful situations. I put it together in video format to explain how it is done and also the different ways to use it. I hope you enjoy it!
Emotional Stress Release (ESR) technique is a great way to reduce stress. It works like this. Place two fingers on the frontal eminences, the bumps on the forehead between the hairline and the eyebrows above each eye. Use a light touch, with just enough pressure to stretch the skin slightly. Sometimes you can feel a little pulse under your fingers. Focus on your breathing and aim to slow these down and start to beat in synch.
For those who don’t feel those (and that’s okay!) just keep holding and focussing on deep breathing until you feel that sigh of release. This is a great one to teach kids also. For highly stressful situations, hold the back of the head too.
I’d love to hear how this works for you – leave a comment below!
